The Trip

  • Parc del Laberint d’Horta

    Parc del Laberint d’Horta

Created at the end of the eighteenth century, the Laberint d’Horta Park is a well-known place in Barcelona. It is famous for having a maze, among other things. It’s a peaceful place to relax if you’ve had a long and stressful week. Apart from this maze, it has a romantic garden, a canal, pavilions, and an old palace, which is inaccessible.

The gates of the palace garden

It’s a fantastic place to spend a weekend morning with your partner or friends, surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

You have to pay a small fee to enter, although it’s free on Wednesdays and Sundays. It’s a place that you should visit if you are around the city, although it could get a bit crowded. It’s an overall great experience.

  • Port del Compte

In the north of Catalonia, we find a ski station called Port del Compte. It’s a familiar station with a kids zone where they can learn how to ski, and there are other zones for more expert people. The station is located at the top of a mountain, so it’s only accessible by car. The place is completely surrounded by nature and the beauty of the Pyrenees.

If you are someone who likes hiking instead of skiing, there are beautiful places you could go. Also is a great place to take snowy landscape pictures. The station is close to Solsona and some other well-known cities near the Pyrenees.
So, if you’re considering doing some winter tourism (or even in summer to hike), you might find this place interesting. To conclude, I have to say that the road is a mountain road and may be tricky for some people, but the views are completely worth it.

  • Majorca Island

Majorca is the biggest island of the Balearic Islands, and it’s half an hour by plane from Barcelona. Palma, the capital city, is near the airport and quite accessible by bus. It’s a touristic place, but full of history. There are lots of incredible historic buildings, including a majestic cathedral which can be seen from far away.

It’s an ideal place to spend your holidays. You have the sea, a great city center to discover, and also a famous mountain range close to all of that. Hiring a car might be de best way to explore the island since you could visit more easily the beautiful bays and coves that the island offers.

If you don’t happen to have a car, there are other activities you could do. An iconic one would be the Train of Sóller, which is an old train from the beginning of the 20th century.

    Touristic train of Sóller

The train leaves from Palma city centre into the north, entering the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range, and arrives at Sóller. Then, you can buy a ticket to the port of Sóller, on the west side of the island. As it is a tourist attraction, the prices aren’t as cheap as some people might expect, but the experience is worth the money.

So, if you plan to visit Spain, you should defenitely consider visiting Majorca Island, the biggest of the Balearic Islands.

  • North Mediterranean Coast

On a two-hour road trip to the North from Barcelona, we find a little peninsula, where the Cap de Creus Natural Park is located. It’s a place full of remote and small coves and capes. The road that leads to the towns and coves is dangerous and tricky, so it’s difficult to arrive. Moreover, the car parks are next to the road, and the little coves are down the hill, so the path is even more difficult.

Taken from the car park of Cala Rostella

But if you prefer visiting a beautiful and remote town I recommend you visit Cadaqués, which is located near the Easternmost point of the Spanish peninsula. It’s a beautiful town surrounded by nature and water. It’s and unique place away from everything.

  • First Sunrise

Sunrises and sunsets is what I like the most, so let’s start by the first sunrise I’ve ever took.

This picture was taken in Tarragona, on the East coast of Spain, in August 2021. It’s a city full of history, since it was a city of the Roman Empire for many years, and there are plenty of structures from that time, which we will end up seeing.
